Mangtha : Cross-Stitch Purse

Handcrafted by Chin refugee women, these colourful cloth pouches hold meticulous artistry and Myanmar heritage. 


Mang Tha is the women’s refugee program under the Alliance of Chin Refugees (ACR) in Malaysia. It is a self-help initiative aimed at improving the livelihoods of Chin refugee women. The women are taught practical skills such as sewing, embroidery, and cross-stitch.

Mang Tha’s goal is to help their women generate income and build business skills in a safe and culturally appropriate environment.

Patterns are cross-stitch.
Magnetic buttton clasp is used to close the purse.
Contains a zipper.
